Cody's new baby

Cody recently got a new tank and fenders for his Harley Davidson, instead of buying a whole new bike, which believe me, he tried to do:) He has the 2003 100th Anniversary edition, and wanted to take that tank off to "keep it as a memento" since it is the anniversary edition. Either way, he had the parts custom painted to the design he wanted......and then it happened.....he fell in love. He was like a little boy on Christmas morning when they got done. All he wanted to talk about was how great they are and how wonderful they turned out. I honestly cannot disagree. I love riding the Harley with him and the paint job is amazing. One thing that is VERY unique about this tank, is the personalization of it. Cody wanted the kiddos and my name on the bike so we could "go everywhere with him." Although the gesture is sweet....it gets a bit nerve wrecking. Cody had all of our names put on the bike...... INCLUDING THE BABY'S!!!! He gave the artist the sonogram picture that the tech gave us for the baby book with the gender of the baby on it. The tech has given us the sex of the baby on pieces of paper sealed in envelopes with the other two. She told us she wanted to do a picture this time for the babybook. We have never checked to see if she was right, which we probably should of done before we did this one. Either way, the artist had the baby's gender, and our boy name and girl name. Whatever the sex of the baby, that name was to go on the bike. YES, this was ALL CODY'S IDEA!!!! So here we are, with the bike, and the gender and name of the baby on the bike, and no clue if it is right, or even what it is. NERVE WRECKING! We have no desire to look under the tape, which is amazing. Everyone can now say a little prayer, hoping it is right!!! We shall see soon.....well, in December!

It has a flames theme to it. The color is a really deep red, it looks better in person.

The Willie G skull is in the flames.

Another skull on the front fender.

The tank with the names, eekkkk!!

COHEN GOES TO KINDERGARTEN!!!

Some very wise woman once said that when she saw her child, it was like her heart walking outside of her body...or something to that effect. The love of a mother is unreal, and you only know this love, when you have a child of your own. I know we are supposed to give our children roots and wings...but what happens when his little wings are trying to flap and you aren't quite ready for that step? That is kind of what I have been feeling with Cohen's school year quickly approaching. It was so hard to be sad the day August 18th arrived. He was sooo excited and full of joy. I know he will change a ton this year and every year after, but a part of me never wants him to grow up. I wish I could still hold him forever, protecting him from everything painful, but I can't. He has to go, and I have to just watch and be there for him, hoping I have made him into a kind, compassionate, Christian human being. Cody and I wrote him a letter and read it to him the night before his first day. Although I do not think he paid attention, one day he will look back at it, and all the letters we will write him the night before the first day of school, and realize how much he has grown and how much we love him and are proud of him. We will remain his biggest fans forever...even if his talent is just fingerpainting...or chatting:) Yay for new beginnings for Cohen.

He goes to Resurrection Catholic School and here are his super cute uniforms!!!

On Monday the 17th, we went to our "last lunch" at El Rodeo with Cody! We have ate here as a family since Cohen was in womb...the servers love the kiddos and Cohen asks to go to the place where they "rub his head."

THE FIRST DAY!!!! It's okay to cry!

He could hardly sit still!!! What a cutie:)

WATCH IT GROW!

Cody and Cohen's Garden update~
So this years garden has been much more successful than last years. I blogged back in March about Cody and Cohen planting another one and this one has been great! We have ate the fruits of our labor...well some of them. The cantaloupe, watermelon, and peanut plant are still growing, but we have had okra, cherry tomatoes, chili peppers...I think that is it.

Cantaloupe!!-which is perfect b/c I crave this more than anything and usually have about one a day:)

August : I do my own stunts!!!

We LOVE our neighborhood. There are so many good kids around here, it makes growing up a lot of fun. Cohen and Miayla are towards the low end of the age range, but Cohen still tries to keep up and Miayla....well she likes to be babied, so it all works out. One night, after playing in water, the kids pulled up a ramp and started "jumping" it with their bikes. Cody and I were watching Cohen closely thinking he would not try it or at least ask before he attempted it.....we were wrong. Luckily, I had my camera taking pictures of the other kids so catching Cohen was fantastic. He thought it was so cool and he was like one of the "big kids". They even gave themselves sponsors and nicknames. His was "the Mexican" (hahaha) and he was sponsored by Lamborghini. Side note, Cohen has to wear his helmet every time he rides his bike. One night he did not pick it up and I ran over it, cracking the plastic. Fortunately, it was a nice helmet and the shell of it stayed intact. Cody peeled the plastic off and Cohen and him and some of the neighbor kids decorated the helmet :) Now it is very unique and fun to look at. It is also funny here b/c he is still not completely clothed from playing in the water so if he had fallen, he probably would of scratched the heck out of his skin...at least his noggin would of been spared:)

first attempt--successful!

July-Bunk Beds!!

While the kids and I were in KC, Cody and my dad decided to go pick out, buy, and assemble BUNK BEDS for the kiddos. Cohen and Miayla will share a room once the baby gets here (actually now) and Miayla's room will stay the nursery. The kiddos were SOOOOOOOOOO excited! I wish I could of been in the the room to see their initial reaction, but somebody had to get all the bags and drinks and snacks out of the car :) They LOVE them and sleep great in them. We are still in the process of redoing their room to make it less boyish, but we are not done yet. Here are the pictures from the first night in the new beds!

first bedtime story:)

Thanks Daddy and Papa!

July- When the going gets tough...we go to Mika's

Sometimes things happen in life that you will never understand why they happened. No matter how many times you replay it in your head, it is what it is, and life must go on. All your faith is tested and every ounce of hope you have in your body is called on. Whereas no one will ever know how, or the why, or really any details (yes even if you inquire), prayers are always needed
and friendship is always welcome. It is also during these times, you know where your head can rest. Where you can go and the pain will be eased and life will seem happier...even if just for a bit.

Mika has been a best friend of mine since before Cohen was born (if we had met earlier in life I am sure we would of hit off great and been friends longer). We met at WSU, both being members of Delta Gamma. She was one of the first to know about Cohen and has continued to be the first to know about almost everything else in my life too:) Through everything, the good, the bad, the happy, and sad, she has been there. I have more love for her in my heart than she will ever know, and that was all before this trip! So when she sensed I needed an escape, she offered her home, AND welcomed the kiddos. Thank GOD she is a kindergarten teacher and has enormous amounts of patience for other people's kids. Nevertheless, the munchkins and I took a little trip to KC for some time to get away and regroup. Mika had everything planned and all the kiddos favorite foods....mine too on hand. Games, movies, adventures, and tons of friendship and love lined up. It was a great trip and she really made the beginning of long journey....hopeful...(like a typical delta gamma girl).
